About the work

I'm inspired by life drawing! Into the Distance is part of a series of thirty mixed media sketches drawn from life. This expressive figure was created using delicate washes of pale rose gold and aqua blue watercolor. Dark charcoal floats into the color, showing us the angle of her head and slight lift of her leg, as if she’s about to take a step. Just a whisper of line defines her form. We image her casually strolling along the beach as she gazes Into the Distance.
