These images were inspired by my walks through my neighborhood with my dog Maisy. I love seeing the shadows spilling across the street and wrapping around fences, hedges, garbage bins and whatever else gets in their way. This digital art was created in Photoshop, using scanned textures. I like to pull interesting shapes (silhouetted street signs, trucks, trees...) from the photo and recreate it in the texture layer. Working this way gives me the freedom to play with color, and make bold creative choices, because command Z is my favorite thing. Thanks for your interest in my work, I hope you find something that makes you happy (:

    Milwaukie

I'm from a little place called Milwaukie, Oregon. It's a Portland suburb, full of mid century modern homes, cul-de-sacs, and strip malls. I love to explore this quirky landscape in my artwork, by playing with color, shape, and pattern, until I have something that makes me happy. When I'm not making artwork, I'm working on children's book illustration. I have 3 published books, and I'm working on my 4th. Thanks for your interest in my work, I hope you find something that makes you happy.
