About the work
This painting was inspired by a bike ride along Lake Shore Drive in Chicago during the summer. The midwest has limited perfect summer days so when the sun comes out, the people come out. From my view along the path, all the beachgoers looked like colorful dots along the shoreline, adding to the playfulness of the scene, begging to be painted.
