About the work
This diptych was inspired by a family reunion along the Oregon Coast when my beautiful Mom was still with us. We marveled at clouds rolling along the water and watched the kids dig trenches in the sand. I remember this reunion with a warmth that I reflected in the clouds.

My aesthetic is ever-changing. Ethereal-light-reflective and playful one moment, industrial-modern-gritty-urban the next. I find it so difficult to limit myself to any one style because I like to be surrounded by contrasting elements in my own environment. A painting should evoke emotion in its owner every time he or she looks at it. When I create my paintings, I envision them in someone’s home and hope that each piece brings as much joy to its new owner as it did to me during its creation.
