When Malaysian artist Cass created her first animal illustration, she didn't realize it was the start of something big. She now has 25 animal prints, including a Lunar New Year series.
“The first draft rarely turns out right, so I’ll leave it and start my second animal until I finish all animals. This process keeps me from panicking. After that, I edit the animals one by one until I am satisfied with it.”
Maja came to the United States from the former Yugoslavia as a war refugee, and first started painting children’s art when she couldn’t find the right pieces for her son’s room.
“Perfecting family and work balance is the ultimate goal, and Minted opened that door for me. Freedom to work as much or as little as your life changes is the kind of independence that I’ve been searching for my whole adult life.”
